How It All Started
I have always had a major soft spot for rabbits and small animals since I was a kid, but sadly, was never allowed to own one. I remember often talking on the phone with my Nan, trying to convince her to buy one for my birthday as a gift so my parents wouldn't be able to return it. Unfortunately, this plan didn’t work, but fast forward to now and my love for these animals could not be stronger. And I now have two very cute bunnies of my own, Bean, Luna and Aster and piggies Darwin and Onyx.
How The Pampered Bun Online came together
The Pampered Bun began when I noticed two huge gaps in the world of rabbit and small animal care:
There’s still so much confusion, misconception, and misinformation around how to care for these delicate animals.
At the time, there were no grooming services in Canberra that specialised in rabbits or guinea pigs — and finding a knowledgeable vet could feel impossible.
With several years of rabbit ownership under my belt and experience grooming professionally, I launched a mobile grooming and sitting service for local bunny parents. It was my way of giving bunnies (and their humans) the support and care they often struggle to find.
But as my business grew, I started seeing the same challenges come up again and again — issues that could have been prevented with access to the right information, early on.
So now, I’m expanding my mission: to reach even more bunny and piggie parents through high-quality education and compassionate support, online. Because the truth is, grooming alone isn’t enough. We need empowered, well-informed caregivers — ones who feel confident making decisions that prevent suffering, confusion, and heartbreak.
That’s why I continue to advocate fiercely for small pets, and why I’m proud to be a partner of The Rabbit Sanctuary, an organisation doing vital work rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming rabbits in need.
Rabbits and guinea pigs can’t advocate for themselves. But I can. And that’s a role I’ll keep showing up for, in whatever way I can, in person or online, for years to come.
(And if you want to know a bit more about me outside of bunny-world… I’m a Disney lover, old soul, Gilmore Girls fan, and Elvis Presley devotee who may or may not have a crippling fear of moths 😅. I love spending time with family, snuggling my buns, and watching feel-good movies on the couch with my husband.)
